Support modern workflows with simultaneous Full HD video recording to internal drive, DVD, USB or NAS external media. Enjoy high image quality, reliable recording and long record time, easy operation and flexible integration. Optimised for surgical applications with still image capture.

From patient records to education, training and referral to other physicians, modern medical workflows benefit from the increased convenience and detail offered by Full HD video recording.

The HVO-550MD Medical Recorder (Surgical Version) has been designed for use in a wide range of clinical environments, from operating rooms to surgical centres and doctors’ offices.

Suitable for storing Full HD video from endoscopic, laparoscopic and other compatible surgical imaging systems, the recorder offers extensive connection options with a wide range of current and legacy devices.

Extra security is provided by a pre-record function that ensures important moments are always captured during a 5-second window before the record button is pressed.

Compact, lightweight and silent in operation, the HVO-550MD (Surgical Version) stores Full HD or Standard Definition video on its high-capacity internal hard disk drive. Via simple menu selection, video can be recorded at the same time to an external USB drive or network server. This simultaneous recording capability supports modern hospital workflow, providing an extra safeguard against the risk of losing valuable data.

Optimised for surgical applications, the recorder can also capture and play back still images that can be printed using an optional Sony UP-DR80MD colour printer.

Full HD video recording

The HVO-550MD (Surgical Version) records crisply-detailled Full HD video at up to 1080i with a high bit rate (low compression), offering improved image quality compared with other recording devices.

Still image recording

Optimised for surgical applications, the recorder can also capture and replay colour still images for review or printing. Still image recording can be triggered via front panel button, optional footswitch or external USB keyboard.

Simultaneous recording on internal HDD and external media

To minimise the risks of accidental data loss, video files are recorded onto the internal hard disk drive simultaneously with a connected USB drive or a network server.

Burn files to DVD

Video files can be burned permanently onto the recorder’s internal optical disc drive (DVD-R) for convenient storage and longer-term archive.

Wide range of interfaces and network data transmission

The HVO-550MD (Surgical Version) is compatible with a wide range of modalities, including current HD as well legacy SD devices. Interfaces are provided for HDMI, DVI, composite video, S-Video and audio, as well as networked data transmission through CIFS to a centralised server.

Long recording time, even in Full HD at best image quality settings

The recorder’s high-capacity disk drive allows long video recordings without interruption, even in Full HD. A choice of three Image Quality settings (Standard/High/Best) permits between 39 and 100 hours of Full HD video recording (or between 99 and 172 hours of SD video). Each individual recording can be up to 24 hours long. Videos can be exported as high quality or PC-friendly MP4 files.

Compliance with Medical Safety Standards

The recorder is compliant with and certified for IEC 60601-1 and product safety standards in the U.S.A., Canada and Europe. Registration status as a medical device may vary, depending on country.

Record and manage high-quality video footage in Full HD resolution from 3D or 2D image sources

The HVO-3300MT Video Recorder allows clinicians to capture high quality 3D or 2D images acquired with 3D/2D endoscopic camera systems, surgical microscopes, and other compatible medical imaging systems in Full HD.

Successor to the popular HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT recorders, the HVO-3300MT is capable of recording 3D or 2D images with Full HD resolution from a connected modality onto its high-capacity internal hard drive. Video footage can also be stored simultaneously on up to two external media devices, including Blu-ray Disc/DVD, USB memory or a hospital server for easy sharing. In addition, live video captured by the HVO-3300MT can be streamed directly to consulting rooms, offices and other locations outside the OR.

Enhanced functions compared with its predecessors include a large LCD colour display for reviewing images and adjusting system settings, increased internal HDD capacity, two-channel recording; and simultaneous low-resolution proxy recording via connection to the Sony CMS (Content Management System).

Compliant with latest medical safety standards, the recorder features a compact design that's both smaller and lighter than the previous-generation HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT, allowing easy integration in a medical cart.

This equipment is intended for use by qualified medical professionals.
3.5-inch front panel colour LCD
The recorder's large 3.5-inch colour LCD shows input image and status, as well as displaying images during playback and device settings screens. It allows confirmation that intended images are input to the recorder correctly without the need for an external display.

Wide range of video interfaces

A wide variety of input/output signal formats are supported, including 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, DVI-D (both for 3D and 2D); together with SD-SDI, composite and S-Video only for 2D. RGB input only is available for the sub-picture in PinP mode.

Simultaneous recording onto two external media

While video images are recorded onto the internal HDD, they can also be stored simultaneously on up to two external media devices (e.g. Blu-ray/DVD disc, removable USB HDD, USB flash memory and/or a server connected to hospital networks).

Live streaming

Live stream images captured by endoscopes, cameras and other devices in real time to consulting rooms, offices and other locations outside the OR. (Requires Sony CMS version 2.2 and HVO-3300 firmware version 1.1 or later).

Ideal HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT Replacement

While offering enhanced functionality, the HVO-3300MT has command compatibility with previous-generation HVO-1000MD and HVO-3000MT recorders. Operators who have used these existing recorders will appreciate the operational familiarity of the HVO-3300MT.

3D/2D Full HD Recording

The HVO-3300MT supports both 3D and 2D Full HD recording. It accepts various 3D formats (side by side, line by line and dual stream). Input signal format is selectable via menu. 3D data are recorded as either side-by-side or top-and-bottom format.

HVO-4000MT 4K 2D and 3D video recorder
HVO-4000MT 4K 2D and 3D video recorder

The Sony HVO-4000MT is already firmly established as the most versatile, feature-rich 4K 2D and 3D medical recorder in its class. With the addition of DICOM Modality Work List support for a smooth metadata workflow and an HD input for flexible video integration, it’s now an even more compelling choice for clinical teams.

4K input support for 2D and 3D formats

HVO-4000MT accepts 4K video signal via four 3G-SDIs. Supported formats include 2D as well as 3D. For 3D input signals Line-by-Line as well as Top-and-Bottom are supported which will be recorded in top-and-bottom 3D video format.

In addition, HVO-4000MT accepts HD video input via 3G-SDI. Supported formats are 1920 x 1080 59.94p/50p (2D BT.709 only. Requires firmware version 1.2 or later).

Long recording time

The recorder’s high-capacity 4TB disk drive allows long duration video recording, even in 4K. Three image quality settings (Standard/High/Best) permit between 46 and 119 hours of 4K video recording (or between 311 and 634 hours of Full HD video recording). Individual recordings can be up to 24 hours long meaning even long and complex operations or procedures can be recorded easily.

4K/FHD simultaneous recording

HVO-4000MT is able to record FHD images from 4K images internally. This is particularly useful when balancing the need for the higher resolution 4K images, with the more common daily use of FHD videos. HVO-4000MT provides the solution to meet this dual demand.

Designed for use in surgical environment

Light and compact design

For ease of use and integration with medical carts, the HVO-4000MT’s compact design saves space with its sleek dimensions of 305 mm (W) x 115.5 mm(H) x 329 mm (D) and 6.5 kg of weight.

Unmatched video quality on front panel

HVO-4000MT has a 3.5” colour (960 x 540 pixel) LCD on the front panel showing current input image and status, playback images and recorder settings. It allows users to control video input as well as change settings without an external display.
